My List

May 30, 2009 until February 26, 2012

The Mission:Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).

Why 1001 Days? Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as New Year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

My spin on the 1001 days project.

I have decided to try my own spin on the 101 in 1001 days project. I am a very easily discouraged person, and when I was writing my list I realized that there are several goals which might just not be possible for me to complete in the next 3 years or so. Before I even began the project, I was feeling discouraged at the prospect of not completing all the items on my list and it was preventing me from diving in. So I decided to change to goal a little bit. I have listed 128 (I like numbers that end in 8) goals for me to complete over the next 1001 days, and I am aiming to complete 101 of them. Of course I would love to complete all of them, but this way I have plenty of room to fail without actually failing. Hopefully this will keep me from getting discouraged and keep me moving forward with the 1001 days project!

I will start on May 30th, 2009 and end on February 25, 2012.
